{Courtney – Bridal Session}

Tuesday, May 12, 2009

Some days just are perfect! Perfect lighting, perfect location, perfect time of year! This bridal session was one of those days. We have been getting hit with some pretty ugly weather the past few weeks, but we got lucky for Courtney’s Bridal Session. Will Rogers Park is so beautiful right now, filled with flowers and picture perfect backgrounds! I loved Courtney’s dress! It was simply stunning! Her accessories were perfect down to the smallest detail – get bouquet and amazing hair feather! It all came together so well! I was so glad to finally meet Courtney and her Mom – we are going to have the best time at her upcoming wedding! I can’t wait for it!!! Thanks so much for an amazing bridal session! Enjoy your sneak peek!

told you she was stunning!!!

One blessing of all this rain – everything is so wonderfully GREEN!

Love this shot below, so much!!

and, this one too….so many favorites!

I love the heavy contrast on this one….

and the vintage feel of this one….

I just love this couple! We met a few moths back to discuss wedding coverage and I am so excited to capture their summer wedding at the Hall of Mirrors!!!! It is such a beautiful location and will be so much fun! We met up for engagement shots downtown last week and the weather cooperated with us!!! Yay! I have had just about enough of this weather!!! We explored some new locations and I LOVE the shots we got! You guys are the best and I hope you enjoy your sneak peek!!! Thanks for being so patient for them. I am so excited to be your wedding photographer and to get to know you even better!

{happy mothers day!}

Sunday, May 10, 2009

….to all the amazing mothers out there! family, friends, clients…..all the mothers that have given so much to their children. I am feeling extra blessed today. Not just because it is mothers day, but just because. A very sentimental time of the year. I had my very first mothers day when my baby girl was just a few days old. I will never forget it. My older brother sent me a mothers day card and said how cool he thought it was that I became a mom so close to mothers day. I must agree with him. Thanks for making me a “momma” baby girl! And, thanks for teaching what it means to be a “momma” – Anita Christine. Auburn is a lucky girl to share a middle name with such an amazing woman! You are the best mom in the world! Happy Mother’s Day EVERYONE!

{sweet baby zoey….}

Friday, May 8, 2009

Sweet little Zoey was so good to me. Just six days old and as adorable as can be. I was so excited to use some new props and hats. If you are interested in these wonderful little hats for your newborn, shoot me an email. The talented , Dionne can make you any color or size you would like! So many sneak peeks to come, stay tuned for some little cuties!!!! Thanks for sharing Zoey with me! I just adore her and can’t wait for you to see her gallery!

Zoey is such a doll!!!

she is just perfection!

Her party is not until next week, but we had to do some birthday celebrating! A zoo trip and some cuppies and joe were just a few things that made out day great! Happy birthday sweet girl!

p.s. the stickers on the face, well… – that creation was done by auburn and her grams :)

we sure love our birthday girl!!!

As I sit here and try to find the words to wish my baby girl a happy second birthday, my eyes fill up with tears. How can I ever explain what two years ago today did to my life. How do I ever begin to describe the amazing adventure of being your momma.  It seems just like yesterday that we were bringing you home. And, now you are TWO. Full of life….So sweet and Kind. You amaze me everyday. The last two years of my life have been the very best years I could ever hope for. You have made our house a home. You have made everything better than I ever thought it could be. Auburn, you have made us whole. Your Daddy and I love you so much, to the moon and back. Thank you for filling our days with laughter, and our nights with hugs and kisses. We can’t wait for the fun year ahead. We love you and wish you a happy Second Birthday! I just want to freeze you right now and soak up every tiny bit of the little person you are…..As of today you:

love baby dolls so much. especially your baby from aunt kimmy.  you are a little momma, rocking them and talking to your babies in the sweetest little voice “you, o.k., baby?”- “eat your bottle, baby”- “time for sleep, baby”

You are OBSESSED with all things that go! you love, fire trucks, air planes, tractors ( I think it is the country girl in you :)

The ABC’S….We sing them all day. Over and over again. Your daddy and I wake up in the morning to the sound of you singing your ABC’S….We love it!

You are kind. Sweet. Very sensitive to what others are feeling. You say “sorry” if you bump into someone. You really seem to understand and care about the feelings of others. It is amazing to see!!!

You love to laugh, to be silly, to have fun! You love to explore and discover things. Bugs, tree bark, anything and everything. We love your spirit of adventure!

And, you LOVE to be a little mini-photographer. Walking around taking pictures with your little camera – holding your play phone with one hand and your camera with another.  We like to think you are shooting photos while taking appointment at the same time! That’s my girl!

…..We love you Little Sunflower. We love you so very much……

I was so happy to meet little Avery last week! She is SUCH A CUTIE!!!! I loved her outfits and adored her shirt with the big “1″ on it! Avery was FULL OF SMILES  - and I could not get enough of it! We captured her one year photos in The Paseo and it was full of color. We just beat the rain and we were so glad that the weather held out for us!! Thank you guys so much for choosing Art and Soul for Avery’s One Year Photos! I am so happy to have met you all – you guys are such an adorable family and I can’t wait for you to see your gallery! Enjoy your sneak peek!

Look at that smile!

Look at that adorable “1″ shirt!

what a happy girl!!!

I love Spring Sessions! The flowers are everywhere and blooming like crazy! It is the best! I met up with this super fun couple last week for their engagement shots. They were the best. Jessica is an elementary teacher and she is just as sweet as can be. Not to mention, BEAUTIFUL! Jessica and Kevin met me at Will Rogers Park following their first wedding shower. Those are the best!!! Kevin was a trooper, a wedding shower and engagement session all in one afternoon! I am so excited for the upcoming wedding of Jessica and Kevin. They are a beautiful example of true love and I am so honored to be their wedding photographer!

Such an adorable couple!!!

I love this shot!!!

So adorable!

{zac, the cutie!}

Sunday, May 3, 2009

I had the pleasure of capturing sweet little zac last week. He has grown so much! He is the famous little guy who first tried out the tea cup and made it such a wanted prop for photos :) He is so adorable and about to be a big brother! His mommy, Katie is due for another little boy in just a few months. I can’t wait to meet the newest member of the family! We all had a blast chasing Zac around the Paseo. Man, this little guy is fast!!! I am loving so many of these proofs and can’t wait for you to see them all! Thanks so much for choosing Art and Soul! You guys are the best!!!

that little smile! so cute!!!

I was so glad we got a shot of him kissing his baby brother-to-be!

It was so cute because we kept sitting Zac up on things so he would not run from us. He figured out our trick pretty fast and would try to find a way down himself. I could just eat him up, he is so precious!!

the fam!

this giggle shot makes me giggle!

You have never seen anything cuter! Running from mom then to dad and back again giving hugs!!

{the many faces of mia!}

I am so happy to be photographing the first year of Mia’s life. She just turned 3 months and is just the cutest little thing you have ever seen! My dear friend, Priscila came over last week so we could get a few shots of her adorable little Mia. She was full of adorable smiles and expressions. Auburn asked all evening “where baby mia go?” She sure loves her new pal! I can’t wait to continue to watch Mia grow and be a part of her childhood. She is so amazing and so beautiful! Thanks for sharing her with Art and Soul!!!!

oh, that smile just melts me!!!
