{Abbey and Vinny, Married!!!}

Saturday, January 30, 2010

I just love this couple! So very sweet and SO IN LOVE! When we first met at the studio, I knew this would be a wedding filled with family and love. It was just that! Such a classic wedding and beautiful down to the smallest detail…..Abbey looked amazing as she married her prince charming. It was very very cold out and started to rain, so we found some indoor spots to use for photos. It was a beautiful church with amazing lighting. It was like they built it with a photographer in mind :) After a touching ceremony the reception was so fun as well! I am so touched to have been a part of such a magical day. Thanks so much abbey and vinny, you two are wonderful beyond words. Your love was so amazing to witness.

Peace and Love!

Alli is amazing. She is so fun – full of life and not to mention BEAUTIFUL! She is graduating this year from Bishop McGinnis and has such a bright future ahead of her. Last week the studio was filled with the little guys…..Lots of boys! From little bitty newborns to walking – talking toddlers…It was great! Had to share some of the cuteness that last week brought! And, it continued today as I had two brand new baby boy newborns in the studio. Goodness, life is good! I know I say it way too much, but i love my job!!! I could just pinch myself on a daily basis to be doing something I love so very much….Thanks to all my amazing clients for a wonderful start to 2010!

{the adorable jude…..}

Sunday, January 24, 2010

I was SO VERY excited to meet this little man…..I feel like I already know him through photos but it was so wonderful to meet him in person….Jude is amazing. All boy, all sorts of personality, all kinds of sweetness. His momma, sunny, is a fellow photographer that made the decision to take time off while her three amazing kiddos are young. I am telling you, they are the three cutest kids you will ever see!!!! I can’t wait to capture the entire family. I followed the journey of this family as they went through the adoption process of jude, and my heart was filled with joy as they brought their baby boy home. Such an amazing story……Sunny and I could talk for hours and we always comment on how even though we have only met a few times, we feel like we have known each other for years – keeping up with each other’s blogs all the time :) . We made our way around the studio and got so lucky to have a beautiful morning for our shoot. Jude led the way and could not have stolen my heart any more. Thanks so much for sharing him with art and soul. He is a blessing beyond words……Happy gotcha day!

Peace, Love, and ADOPTION!

I love these two shots…..The shot below has a dream like feel that makes me smile….

{fun on the farm!}

Thursday, January 21, 2010

I just love these three…..The Adkins Family are some wonderful people! I had the pleasure of capturing the wedding of these two love birds and it is to this day one of my very favorite weddings. I met them at the family farm for the fall family session. I was so neat seeing the field where they plan to build their future home and also to see all the work that goes into running a farm.Such a wonderful morning with a wonderful family!

Peace and Love!

Wednesday, January 20, 2010

can’t you just see this little guy breaking all the girls hearts someday……..???? Those blue eyes are just to die for. Zaiden is the little brother of one of my cutest clients, Lynzlee, and I was so excited to capture his 9 moth photos. Goodness, one of my favorite ages! little teeth popping through and big chubby cheeks! can’t get enough! Zaiden was so good to me and we were able to get some indoor and outdoor photos. So much fun! This little guy is already standing and taking some steps…When I see him this spring for family shots – he is sure to be running all over the place! LOVE IT! Thanks so much for an amazing session and for sharing your sweet boy with art and soul!

Peace and Love!

oh, such a cutie…..

I simply adorable newborns – their smell; their softness; their freshness. They are simply beautiful and one of my most favourite things to photograph.
Ideally newborn sessions should take place prior to 10 days of age and no later than 2 weeks of age.  I know it will seem “all too hard” at the time  - trust me I’ve been there – but the wonderful images and treasured memories you will have of the short moment in time will make it worth it, a million times over. Most of the images contained within my newborn gallery are of babies under the age of two weeks. This is when babies are more sleepy, curly and well, ‘new’. It makes it much easier to capture the beautiful poses. There may be more leeway for premature babies –  at the end of the day it is all dependent on the baby.
Newborn sessions will take place in my home studio (Southside of Brisbane) which has been set up specifically for newborns. I understand there are sometimes exceptions to the norm and if you require an on location newborn session, it can be arranged. Newborn sessions generally take around 3-4 hours but it is all dependent on the baby. We do not rush the session and it is not uncommon to have lots of pauses while we wait for baby to settle, feed etc.
I always make sure I have sessions available for newborns (because let’s face it their arrival is unpredictable) but should you know in advance that this is something you are interested in, please email me with your due date and we can pencil an ‘approximate date’ in advance.I simply adorable newborns – their smell; their softness; their freshness. {Newborn Sessions}
With 2010 filling up with the wee-ones, I thought it would be nice to share some tips for booking / capturing newborn photos. I simply ADORE newborns – their smell, their softness, their freshness. They are simply adorable and one of my favorite things to photograph. Ideally newborn sessions should take place prior to 10 days of age and no later than two weeks of age. I know it seems “all too hard” at the time – trust me i’ve been there – but the wonderful images and treasured memories you will have of the short moment in time will make it worth it, a million times over! Under two weeks of age are when babies are more sleepy, curly, and well “new”. It makes it much easier to capture the beautiful curled up poses.

Newborn sessions take place at my studio (31st and classen / north okc) which has been set up for newborns. I understand that some parents would like to shoot at their home, and that can be arranged as well. Keep in mind that it is helpful if the home has a good natural light flow and that you would like the backgrounds in your home to show through in your photos. It can make for some beautiful photos. Newborn sessions tend to be anywhere from 1-3 hours and depend on the baby. The sessions is never rushed and it is not uncommon to have lots of pauses while we wait or baby to settle, feed, ect.

I always make sure i have sessions available for newborns (because lets face it their arrival is unpredictable) but please plan on contacting me to touch base on your due date and pencil you in for date and time the week of arrival. Also, we can discuss ideas and creative thoughts for your session. It is then best to contact me when you deliver so we can set a specific time. Please also feel free to bring the following to the newborn session:
-nursery items
-special blankets / stuffed animals
-any hats or bows
-colorful items / letters (possibly baby’s name in letters)

Please also know:
The studio is kept very warm during the newborn session so that we can strip the baby down for shots. Parents, please dress in layers so that you do not get too warm. Please bring anything you would like to sooth your baby in between shots. Feel free to ask any questions during the session – birth announcements, baby’s first year plan, newborn albums…..It is a great time to discuss it all.

{”say cheese, momma”}

Thursday, January 14, 2010

my crazy little auburn…..growing and changing every day. This girl is very used to the camera as you can imagine….She actually sleeps with her little plastic camera she got for christmas  -every night….It cracks me up when she runs around “say cheese, momma” taking pictures of everything and even telling dusty and me to  ”scoot closer” when photographing us. She is such a little hoot! I was formatting memory cards in the living room earlier in the week, watching her dance and sing around the room and called her over for a quick 10 min little photo shoot. She was hamming it up….Our living room has some wonderful north light and it makes shooting in there any time of day great. I swear, can’t get enough if this girl…..Love you little sunflower! Can’t we as parents just freeze time! I could just bottle her little personality up and keep her little forever :)

love those little eyes that just disappear when she smiles!
