{Out of the Studio}

Friday, August 29, 2008

I will be out of the studio until Tuesday, September 2nd. All phone calls and emails will be returned after the 2nd. Have a wonderful Holiday weekend – be back with some new sneak peeks!!!!

…..Sigh…..

I love babies, it is no secret….And today my love grew leaps and bounds!! Meet little man, Hayden..He is the most adorable little 6 week old!! He was beyond perfect for his photo shoot today, giving us plenty of smiles and sweet moments. It was so wonderful to meet his beautiful Mommy and Grandmother. They sure are crazy in love with this little guy. I have just got into sorting through the mountain of proofs from this session, we have some super cute photos on our hands :) Wanted to get a post up for you, Mom – I knew you would be checking to see your little baby boy’s sneak peek! Enjoy – he is a true blessing! Thanks so much for sharing him with Art and Soul Photography!

I can’t get over the cuteness of this little guy!!

Nothing is cuter than baby hands….

He loved sitting in the tea cup :)

There is one thing that is never lacking at the Porch house…..Creativity in all forms! Little Miss Picasso got busy on her very first painting and I must say, I was pretty proud of her! I thought I would have to show her how to use the brush – dip it into the paint and on to  the canvas….But, she just picked up the brushes and went to town on the canvas. She did not quit until the whole canvas was full of color. At one point she had all the brushes in her hand, painting with all of them! Dusty said he had never seen me so proud :) After she was done on the canvas, she decided to paint her legs, and wanted to paint mine to. It sure was a multi -colored bath later that evening!!!! Can’t wait to frame her little masterpiece!

Don’t worry- the paint was non-toxic :)

My little messy artist!

I know I always say this, but my brides are seriously the coolest! I have been talking with many 2009 couples and getting to know you all a little better, all amidst shooting in the August Oklahoma heat. I can’t say enough what a great summer I’ve had doing what I love for great, great people. And though my season isn’t nearly over, I’m just wanting to say hello and a big ‘thank you’ to all my couples who are still diligently checking the blog and sending me sweet e-mails! You guys inspire me and allow me to do what I do, and I am beyond grateful for you!

Okay, that’s enough gushing from me for one afternoon! This post is to show you the new leather disk presentation albums for each and every client booking a wedding with Art and Soul. There is a custom photo on the outside and inside flap – and the inside holds your CD. They are super cute, and a great way to keep track of your photos forever :)

Remembering….

After making sure the family did not mind, I wanted to post a few photos that truly touched my heart. During our Sunday session we went over to the Downtown Bombing Memorial. The family shared with me that they had lost a loved one in the bombing. Kyle lost his mother, Jamie in the bombing. We visited her chair and captured some photos of Brendlee with his Grandmother. After making sure the glass was not to hot, he even gave her a kiss. The moment brought tears to my eyes. I am always amazed at how beautiful the memorial is. What an amazing place people are able to go and remember their loved ones. The morning touched my heart, and I hope the photos touch yours….

I love these two shots….

It was such a pleasure meeting the Genzer Family this morning! They were such a loving and fun family – it sure shows in the photos. You would not believe how amazing this little guy was……He was so great at giving me cute poses – and listening to directions. We explored the downtown Botanical Gardens and had a blast! He even got the chance to cool off in the fountains near Bricktown! Thanks so much to the Genzer family for allowing me the pleasure of capturing the three of you. You are such an awesome example of true family love!

This family shot makes me smile :)

Cooling off in the fountains!

Love this shot of him telling his Mom secrets :)

Little Artist!

Welcome to the new and improved blog! So excited to get it up and running…..A big, huge special thanks to my wonderful husband for designing it for me. What better way to begin a new blog, than a quick post of my little artist. Chalkin’ it up and enjoying the cooler weather……She has exploded with words this week. She loves to say them over and over again, and gets so proud of herself. Looking forward to a rain-free weekend (fingers crossed) with a bridal session on Saturday,  followed by a family session Sunday. Stay tuned for the sneak peek!

Art makes us happy!

She takes her art pretty seriously :)
