{lucky number 13!}

Tuesday, January 6, 2009

Thirteen years ago today a very shy, very sweet, red headed guy asked me to be his “girlfriend.” We spent the next four years of high school side by side. Having fun, making memories, and even getting voted “couple most likely to get married” by our senior class. We have grown, explored, and loved each other each and every day. I have now been with my love half of my life. Nothing makes me happier than to be his wife. To wake up next to my dusty porch and fall asleep next to him every night. He is my best friend, the love of my life, and the amazing father to our little sunflower. Babes, I am so glad you held the door open for me after our basketball game 13 years ago. That you helped me to my seat and carried my bag while I was on crutches that night. That you called me later that evening and waited until the very last second on the phone to blurt out the fastest sentence in the world. “if you want to be my girlfriend, I would love for you to be” I am so glad I agreed. You are my love. always.

we were 15 in this photo…..can’t believe what baby’s we were!!

and now…not 15 anymore, but we secretly still act like teenagers :)

and our baby girl….would have never believed we would grow up and create our little love, Auburn! Looking forward to the next 13 year and the rest of forever with you, Babes!

{christmas eve}

Thursday, December 25, 2008

For the past few years now we have been celebrating Christmas Eve morning with the Porch Family (dusty’s mom and pop) We eat a yummy breakfast and open gifts in our p.j.’s – it is super fun, not to mention comfy :) We had a wonderful time this morning!!!! Lots of kiddos opening gifts all over the place! Auburn and Zoe now have enough baby dolls in their collection to start a day care of their own….Auburn had the gift opening DOWN!!! She was all over it….Cracked me up! Here are a few pics from the morning – lots more to come tomorrow when she gets her kitchen – can’t wait to see her face when she see it! dusty and I tried it out a bit during her nap, and I have to say, we enjoyed pretend cooking. Much more fun than real cooking….Merry Christmas Everyone!

Grandma Martha made Auburn her super cute hello kitty christmas p.j.’s

Mariah is going to stay nice and warm in her north face jacket!

Guess I was excited about this one….Don’t know what this face is all about?….

loves anything ABC related!!!

The hit of the day was the $2.99 microphones….Of course!

Zoe getting excited over her gifts!

Dusty was so excited that he found the perfect gift for his brother…..a hat with built in lights…..

{early christmas fun…..}

Tuesday, December 23, 2008

We have been having lots of early Christmas fun around here…..Getting together and having lots of gift exchanges with friends.  Some of our favorites came by and we did a little gingerbread house makin’….It was fun, but we were a little to quick to want to get to the fun part of decorating…So, we wound up with a modern take on the gingerbread house. Dusty and Danny decided to put their own stamp on it….Crazy! Anyhoo, off to more holiday celebrations the next few days, can’t wait for little miss sunshine to experience her second Christmas!

auburn was pretty excited about all her new books from the brockman girls…..

She loves her aunt kels and uncle danny!!!

and, the decorating begins….

This craft takes deep concentration….

looking cute…..but, wait….

It takes a turn for the worse!!! Oh, well, we are artists….we have to be different, right? It is no fun if it looks like the picture on the box :)

I have had so much fun designing the Christmas Cards for this years clients! Here are a few of my favorites from this week! Just a reminder, this Sunday is the cutoff for Holiday cards orders. I extended it a few weeks to give everyone a chance for ordering :) But, this being the busiest time of year for photographers, I have set a cutoff for my own sanity…If you have any questions about placing your order, just shoot me an email and I will get you set up with a holiday card friends and family are sure to remember!

Card Information: All cards are 4×6 or 5×7 and can be ordered in sets of 25. They are press printed on a linen textured card stock and come with envelopes. You pick the card and photo of choice.

I have the BEST clients – and the most adorable families!!!

And he is such a little cutie!!!! Big blue eyes and an adorable personality! He is a blessing to all….Happy first Birthday little guy – I have been so happy to capture your first year of life. Can’t wait to continue to watch you grow! p.s. your birthday cake rocked!

Auburn catching a ride with Collin in the wagon….

This weekend we were lucky enough to get our family holiday pictures taken by my close friend and talented photographer, Erin Darcy. She is visiting the states with her husband, Steven. They live in Ireand and are visiting for the month. We are SUPER thankful that she had time to capture our photos. We had the best time on our shoot. Auburn gave us just enough smiles and then she was pretty pooped out from all the fun. Dusty and I got some shots together – and it made us feel like kids again!!! We both had a great time and can’t thank Erin Darcy Photography enough! It gets tough to schedule in family photos for my own family during the holiday rush, I am so glad we did! Thanks so much Erin, you are so talented!!!! I am so thankful for our friendship and I am so glad we get the chance to catch up while you are home!!!

This one just might have to go on a canvas wrap…..

She had to have her baby doll in a few pics :)

And….a few of just us...

I love all the fun angles Erin captures!

this one is fun!

Loved the texture of the wall!

A game of peek-a-boo!

I love my hubby….He is my everything!

We have been together 14 years in January….I love him more everyday!

Erin made us feel so comfortable during the session….we could just be ourselves and have fun!

Thanks so much again Erin! You are the best!!!

I have been shopping around for a new logo design. Not that I do not love my old one – just going to try something new…..Little did I know that my wonderful friend and fellow photographer, Erin, of ERIN DARCY PHOTOGRAPHY, could make me such a modern and hip new logo for my site. All my love to you Erin, you are amazing! Now, I just need my hubby to come home from out of town and help me put the new logo all over the place – from the blog to the website :) Miss you Hubby! Check out the new logo love!
